Our Founding Universities

The National Biofilms Innovation Centre was launched in 2017 by its four core Universities (Edinburgh, Liverpool, Nottingham and Southampton) and is led by four Co-Directors: Professors Cait MacPhee, Rasmita Raval, Miguel Cámara and Jeremy Webb respectively.

Partnerships are vital in advancing biofilm research and applications as they combine diverse expertise and resources. By collaborating with leading universities and industry partners, NBIC leverages cutting-edge research and innovative technologies to tackle global challenges. These partnerships enable the translation of biofilm research into practical solutions, fostering innovation and driving economic and societal benefits. Together, we push the boundaries of science, ensuring that our collective efforts lead to impactful advancements in biofilm technologies.
