International Conference on Biofilms and Microbiomes, 20 May 2026
Join Cardiff University on 20 May 2026, at the Novotel in Cardiff Centre, for the Microbial Interactions in Biofilms and Microbiomes, a one-day international conference bringing together leading scientists and early-career researchers working at the forefront of microbial ecology, biofilms, microbiomes, evolution and biotechnology.
This meeting will explore how microorganisms interact, organise and adapt within complex communities across environmental, industrial and clinical settings. The conference will focus on the mechanisms underlying cooperation, competition and communication, and how these processes shape community structure, metabolic exchange, antimicrobial tolerance and ecological stability.
Through a programme of invited plenary lectures, early-career researcher talks, flash poster presentations and networking sessions, the conference aims to foster cross-disciplinary dialogue and promote a unified understanding of microbial interactions, from fundamental principles to real-world applications in healthcare, biotechnology and environmental sustainability.
