NBIC contribute at the KTN Biofilms Workshop & Workshop Report

In February, NBIC attended a workshop organised by the Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN). This was a one day session attended by Companies and Universities to get a common understanding of the unmet needs across a range of industrial sectors in the context of Biofilms. This ranged from Marine, Medical, Oil , Water, Personal Care, and Agriculture. NBIC representative presented the introduction of NBIC and the services we provide.

During the workshop, the research and industrial participants discussed and voted for potential priorities in different sectors. The top 4 ranked priorities across all sectors are:

  1. Standardised models
  2. Inhibit formation/adhesion of biofilms
  3. Data collection-big data analysis
  4. Real time detection: what is present or could be a problem.

The report of the workshop is now available. To find out more about the needs in biofilms research across sectors, and what suggestions were raised to meet those needs, please read the workshop report.
