We are looking for a self-driven and proactive Professional to work as an Senior Innovation Consultant within the National Biofilm Innovation Centre (NBIC) to manage, coordinate and secure NBIC’s portfolio of impact, translation, proof of concept and other funding programmes to support knowledge exchange, commercialisation and impact acceleration.
The University of Southampton has one of the largest concentrations of interdisciplinary biofilm research in the UK. Now we are the lead institution for the new £26m National Biofilms Innovation Centre (NBIC) which is based in Southampton. The Centre sees 16 UK institutions working alongside over 60 companies, as well as policy and government regulatory bodies, to deliver ground breaking technologies and products to Prevent, Detect, Manage and Engineer Biofilms.
The successful individual will be responsible for the successful delivery of NBIC’s funding schemes. They will support knowledge exchange, policy development and enterprise initiatives to bring NBIC’s partners technologies, intellectual property and other research outputs closer to market.
We are looking for someone with proven experience of working with a broad range of emerging technologies and with multiple stakeholders. They will need to be able to effectively work with colleagues in other work areas to achieve outcomes. This post is suitable for individuals with excellent interpersonal skills and strong business acumen and is available now. This role will require extensive travel within the UK. The office base for this role will be at the University of Southampton, however it is possible for the person to be based anywhere in the UK.
