Dr Jo Slater-Jefferies
Jo is the Head of Operations for the National BiofilmsInnovation Centre, based at the University of Southampton. Between 2011 and 2018 she was the GeneralManager for EpiGen, a global research consortium. Jo started her scientific career at Sciona Ltd, a spin-out company combining life style data and genetic analysis, as a Senior Scientist and Quality Manager. She returned to academia in 2006 as a Research Fellow, before moving to a research governance role within the University of Southampton.
Jo is a Director and Trustee of the Asthma, Allergy and Inflammation Research (AAIR) charity. Jo holds a BSc (Honours) in Molecular Biology and an industrial sponsored PhD from the University of Portsmouth, U.K. In 2014, Jo also received a Master of Business Administration from the Open University Business School and in 2017 became a Chartered Manager at the Chartered Management Institute.
