UKRI: Transforming our world with AI – Upcoming Events

Artificial intelligence is already changing our world and being used in research and innovation. It has been used by scientists in the COVID-19 pandemic, with agriculture, energy, environment, food and business productivity just some of the other sectors where it is being applied.

UKRI‘s review ’Transforming our world with AI’ sets out their view of the opportunities for research and innovation in AI – artificial intelligence – in the UK.

In it UKRI out aspirations for supporting transformational activities, and for working with their partners to place the UK in a strong position to realise the vast potential benefits of AI.

There are two events which plan to build on this : 

UKRI-BBSRC Workshop on Computing in the Biosciences, Wednesday 29 April 

 

Building upon UKRI-BBSRC’s Review of Data-Intensive Bioscienceand in response to the recommendation on Digital Infrastructure, UKRI-BBSRC will run a workshop on scientific computing for the biosciences to better understand the computing needs of the bioscience community. The workshop will inform our guidance, strategy and promote the exchange of knowledge across the sector.

Artificial intelligence in the biosciences virtual community building meeting, Wednesday 19 May

 

The event aims to raise awareness of the potential AI has for the biosciences and to illustrate where it has already made a difference. It will also promote networking between communities and help UKRI-BBSRC understand the opportunities and challenges of AI for the biosciences in particular.
