b'Proof of Concept ProjectsSUPPORTING TRANSLATIONAL ACTIVITYOur investment in biofilm innovationTo date, we have run four Proof of Concept (POC) callsmore than 50 are SMEs. These applications have shown attracting 207 applications from which we awardeda spread across our four key interventional themes funding to 81 projects. This represents an investmentwith each successive call showing a more even balance of 4.4m from NBIC and 6.7m total value when weas our outreach takes effect. In addition, they have seen also consider funds from companies either in cash orengagement from a diverse set of industrial sectors in kind. These applications have involved 39 researchdemonstrating the broad impact of biofilms.
