Since December 2017, we have delivered 6 translational funding calls, awarding support to 104 collaborative 
projects from 256 applications involving 52 research institutions and 174 principal investigators. This represents 
a total investment of £4.9 million from NBIC and an overall project value of £9.4 million, helping to expand 
the reach of biofilm innovation across an increasingly diverse range of sectors and application areas.
We designed, led and managed these calls using a transparent independent process with our partners’ 
input. We have also seen a widening of sectorial spread and balance of interventional themes. Information
