UK Innovation and Science Seed Fund (UKI2S)
The UK Innovation and Science Seed Fund (UKI2S) invests in innovations from the UK’s science and knowledge base, specialising in engineering biology, defence & security, fusion energy, and space.
To receive UK funding from the Innovation and Science Seed Fund (UKI2S) you must fulfil one of the following:
• Either you are based at one of the following research campuses
• Or you are working in a strategic priority area (engineering biology, defence & security, fusion energy, or space)
• Or your innovation is based on intellectual property (IP) associated with a UKI2S partner.
UKI2S invests in the pre-seed and seed stage (and are often the first investors). Their entry cheques are typically between £100k and £500k and they aim to follow-on in subsequent rounds in the best-performing companies, up to £1.5m. UKI2S are happy to lead investments or follow, so long as UKI2S investment is a meaningful part of the round.
